Nexus 6P - Wifi Question

I have a Nexus 6P and am finding that after the phone has been in standby for a short while, the WiFi is switching off. After I switch the phone back on the WiFi reconnects after 10-20 seconds. Is this normal and what's doing this? The doze feature? And, yes, it is set to remain on during sleep in the advanced WiFi settings!

Ditto. It's annoying because it does this while listening to music, meaning it uses data instead of WiFi.

You can switch doze off for specific applications, so it may be worth doing that for your music app to see if it improves.

I found that Facebook Messenger wouldn't alert when I received anything for the same reason. As good an idea as it is, it appears to have consequences that most people don't recognised or know what to do about.
